Correction: top section has 2 small warp nacelles, one deployed from behind the bridge, as stated, the other one is parallel and under the hull. Can be briefly seen in a shot from behind.
Galaxy-class info Edit
Recently added was "it must be noted that" Galaxies could multivector by means of saucer separation. I don't think this should be here because the article is about the mode which is a feature of Prometheus. --TribbleFurSuit 19:04, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed. A link might be added though like, see also: Saucer separation as a similar topic. Also I think its a bit far fetched to claim this mode was most likely derived from the Galaxy-class, there might have easily been several other classes of ships before the Galaxy that could also separate and reintegrate similarly. --Pseudohuman 00:13, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
Non-Prometheus multi-vector assault Edit
This article is about the mode developed for and installed in specifically the Prometheus-class. Other classes of vessels which can improvise a multivector assault should not be in the article about Multi-vector assault mode, because those vessels don't have a mode, they merely have (in Galaxy's case anyway) a separation feature which requires an extra commanding officer for both sections to be operated. A generic article about "multi-vector assault" is a possibility, or, since that's not even a canon term for what happens following separation, maybe an expansion of the article on separation. At any rate, I reverted a big edit which minimized the Prometheus class's prominence, which was bogus because only the Prometheus class has this mode. --TribbleFurSuit 21:18, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. However, you may want to reintegrate the rewording to active voice, the use of the ShipClass and USS templates, and re-italicize Prometheus in the image caption. – Kv1at3485 22:51, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- A mod for the game Star Trek: Bridge Commander is available that gives user-created (also considered mods) starships the ability to separate if they are capable of such a function. A version of the Prometheus-class is available that includes the MVAM capability, as is a version of the Galaxy-class. Other ships are available with the ability as well.
Removed as fan information, as mods are not part of the licensed game.--31dot 09:55, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
