Can someone with an educated background in such matters be willing to help explain the above. Does the "O'Brien line" specifically mean "surname O'Brien", or does it also possibly mean descended from "O'Brien blood"? I'm wondering because other than this line acknowledging her relation to the O'Brien family, I'm not sure naming her "Molly O'Brien" is accurate article title --aside from the obvious conflict with the "real" Molly O'Brien. My doubt lies in the possibility that she could be the daughter of a daughter or other female descendant of the O'Brien line, meaning that she would not be carrying the surname. The only reason I bring this up, is that several other websites seem to give her the O'Brien surname, and I'm not convinced that it is correct. Anyone with a background in geneology or its terminology able to assist here? --Gvsualan 22:52, 30 Jun 2005 (UTC)

There's only a 50/50% chance her last name would be "O'Brien" -- we probably know that she isnt an offspring of Miles, because it might be considered untoward to name two of your children the same thing. This means the first Mollys in the "O'Brien line" on Gaia would be Miles' grandchildren. If Miles had a girl, then his granddaughter Molly would probably have the last name of Miles' son-in law, his daughters husband. if Molly is descended from Miles' son, there's a better chance of her having the name, but we don't know, so we probably can't assume. -- Captain Mike K.
