I haven't seen this TOS episode, but i wondered whether it could be reasonnable to assume a connexion between metrons and the "Q" seen in TNG and VOY (never in DS9, strangely). We can find lots of common characteristics : great power, longe lifespan, and a tendancy to test humans. --Rami
ummm the Q were in one episode of ds9, and Vash from captians holiday. he played a pretty small part in the episode, but he wqs there none the lessIts Time For The White! =/\=Talk=/\= 20:49, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
Metrons appear to be more advanced than the Federation in the 23rd century, but not by all that much. They've got a dampening field that shuts down passing ships, and a nifty transporter, but there's no real confirmation that they're energy beings like the Organians or Trelane. They do have the capricious-bastard personality common to the Q, so not much they say can be taken at face value. In DS9 there's a mention of the Metron Consortium signing a trade agreement with another race. That doesn't sound like the god-like Q. -- Aurelius Kirk 09:47, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
