Is it necessary?

Is it necessary to have a "Chief medical officer's personal log" link on this page? The personal log of a CMO should not differ not that of any other person's personal log. I did include a link under "SEE ALSO" to the Personal log. Dlc2006 12:50, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

  • Nope. not needed at all, since it is a personal log... --6/6 Subspace 00:25, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
The chief medical officer's personal log was specifically referenced in the episode "Author, Author." The page "Chief medical officer's personal log" would be for describing the log, whereas the page Chief medical officer's personal log, USS Voyager would be for placing the known entries. It is separate from the Personal log, Doctor which is more of a diary pertaining to his entire career (he's not the best example, but it works for others), whereas the CMO's personl log would pertain to the personal entries by various CMOs aboard Voyager, likely personal entries related to their job. It's very convoluted reasoning, but it makes sense to me at least.
  • For a better example, Captain's personal log, USS Enterprise (NCC-1701), would contain entries made into the "Captain's personal log" by Kirk, or later Willard Decker, or Spock while they were Captain of the Ship. Personal log, James T. Kirk would contain entries made into the "Personal log" by Kirk at any point in his career. In the series the entries might overlap, but it's easier to have separate pages for separately referenced logs.--Tim Thomason 00:35, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
  • So is it or is it not necessary? lol.... Dlc2006 00:48, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
