Before going ahead and making changes, I wanted to solicit some opinions. Right now, the term linguist links outside of MA, exo-linguist goes nowhere, and linguistics does not appear at all. I would like to move the current Language page to a new page Linguistics, group all these terms under that page, along with a few preliminary minor changes previewed here. This is going to involve quite a lot of redirecting work, which is fine, except this also entails a change to Main Page, which has a link to Language. So really, my question is, can I go ahead and move this page without causing too much consternation? Exolinguist 23:27, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- But Language, Linguistics, and Linguists are three different things. Anatomy, Medicine and Doctors are three different pages, so I don't see why they should be combined. "Linguistics" should be created, and confined to when it was mentioned, such as archeology. Linguists can link to that page, (as Archaeologist does to archaeology) and both would mention and there-by link to language. - AJ Halliwell 02:02, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
