wasn't Kelby referred to as a "commander" in his other appearances, making the "lieutenant" reference in "Bound" an error? -- Captain Mike K. Barteltalk 05:11, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

You're right. Archer referred to him as "Commander Kelby" in "Affliction".

'course, Kelby and Trip could know eachother, and the last time Trip saw him was as a lieutenant, and he said that in an almost joking way. of course, im not implying they're best friends or anything, just know eachother and josh a bit--The Rev 00:29, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Originally, Kelby was going to be the Terra Prime spy in "Demons" and "Terra Prime," but Manny Coto decided the fans had come to like Kelby too much, so they decided to create Ensign Masaro.

This has been uncited for some time now. --Alan del Beccio 21:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Chief Engineer Edit

Why is Kelby still on Enterprise in "Terra Prime?" Hadn't Trip transferred back already, and reclaimed his position as chief engineer? It seems a bit odd... Is there a canon explanation, or are we just supposed to speculate? -Randy 15:46, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Just because he's not chief doesn't mean he is no longer assigned to the crew. --OuroborosCobra talk 18:39, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Removed Edit

  • This may be explained by Kelby holding the rank of lieutenant commander, the existence of which in the time frame of Enterprise was never clearly established.
