Who said that the Kar'takin looks like a mek'leth? user: Raikona

Prop re-uses[]

Considering that the "kar'takin" is defined as a Jem'Hadar weapon and therefore cannot have been in the Alpha Quadrant before the wormhole was discovered, perhaps the appearances of the prop in "Blood Oath" and "Ties of Blood and Water" could be placed in background instead? -- Kingfisher 19:36, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Where did it appear in "Blood oath" and yes, a background note would be fine. --Jörg 19:41, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Huh, I thought the Albino wielded something like it. Perhaps I was mistaken. -- Kingfisher 19:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
I definitely agree that they can't be the same weapons used by Bajoran resistance fighters. --Lord MaGnUs 03:47, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
The Albino is seen wielding a rifle with bayonet, but the Bajoran resistence is most certainly using them in Kira's flashbacks. Since the weapon had already been established as a Jem'Hadar blade, perhaps this was a subtle commentary on the reliability of memory. 68.151.216.165 19:13, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Where does the name come from? I don't recall it being mentioned in the show but I'm sure I'm wrong. — Morder (talk) 06:34, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

Worf in "Sons and Daughters": "This is a kar'takin, a weapon favored by the Jem'Hadar." [1]Cleanse 12:00, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
