Regarding the background note under Production which lists references on the decryption display: other references not mentioned in the note include 4077 MAS (a M*A*S*H reference), STIM SON (special & visual effects artist Mark Stimson) and BAB5 YEA (competing sci-fi series Babylon 5).

This story shares some similarities with the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Meld" regarding the method of the murders. This is probably a coincidence, as the episodes are broadcast three years apart.
I don't see any similarity in these episodes, and as far as I know, we never add them to bg sections unless it is mentioned as such by a member of the production.MajorTom1 (talk) 07:58, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

This episode relates to the debate in American schools about the teaching of evolution and creationism in science classes. Specifically, the plot has parallels with the Scopes Trial.
