Hyperspanner: one word?Edit

I have discovered that this item is actually spelled "hyperspanner" in the closed-captioning. Should we rename all instances of "hyper spanner" to "hyperspanner"? —Shawn81 04:25, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Make one word a redirect, and leave this here IMO. On at least 2 occasions (granted, unofficial) on do they spell it two words. - AJHalliwell 04:43, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)
(update) The script for "The Ship" spells it "Hyper-spanner" with a dash, and Empok Nor spells it two words. (slightly unrelated note,) Was this really never mentioned in TNG? Huh, thought it was. - AJHalliwell 04:48, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Many fans consider the hyperspanner to be a great example of technobabble, as its actual use has never really been explained, and the writers seem to put it in whenever they need a "recognizable tool." It is similar in concept to the Sonic Screwdriver of Doctor Who fame.

How many constitutes "many fans" and why do we care? --Alan 23:38, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
