Pilot redirectEdit

I just got to this article through a link to pilot. I think there should be an article called 'pilot'. I can think of one example off the top of my head - Captain John Christopher from TOS: "Tomorrow is Yesterday". He would be classified as a pilot as opposed to a helmsman, don't you think? -- TrekFan Talk 17:07, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

He would, but what he was doing also isn't comparable to a helmsman. A pilot of a fighter jet is not the same asa helmsman. --OuroborosCobra talk 17:22, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

That's my point. Shouldn't there be an article entitled Pilot? If you click that link (<<<) it takes you to this article. Get what I mean? -- TrekFan Talk 20:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Ah, misunderstood, thought you were proposing such a redirect. --OuroborosCobra talk 20:53, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

So what do you think? -- TrekFan Talk 21:41, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

I Agree, the redirect in this case is not appropiate, the terms do not mean the same thing, at least in some aspects. While certainly, there have been times when someone said "We need a pilot" as mentioned above, we have seen Pilots in the meaning we use in reality. --Terran Officer 04:25, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

There is in fact an article called "Fighter pilot". I am going to change the redirect, "pilot" so that it links to that page instead. -- TrekFan Talk 00:15, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
