Flophouse Edit

Noticed we’ve an article for flop. Should I attempt to link these two?--Archer4real 13:43, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

Since flop is apparently short for flophouse{at WP flop redirects to flophouse) we may want to consider merging one article with the other. 31dot 14:48, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

Merge Edit

What's the rationale for merging here? Just from looking at the pages I'm not convinced they should be. 31dot (talk) 19:32, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

A flophouse is an extension of this term, and if anything it seems to me that that page should be merged here, keeping the redirect of course. - Archduk3 20:00, January 24, 2013 (UTC)
Wikipedia treats "flop" as a short-form/nickname for "flophouse", and has their article at "flophouse" (as an FYI). -- sulfur (talk) 20:02, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

OK, that works. :) 31dot (talk) 20:04, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

Either way works for me, it just seems that the shorter term is more common in canon. - Archduk3 21:24, January 24, 2013 (UTC)

I was going to say, "Well, if you won't take it from me, take it from you" – see 31dot’s comments under flophouse in favour of a merger on 17/6/12. Instead I'll say that Kirk's remarks in "A Piece of the Action" seem to describe a 'flophouse', i.e. a place. I realize no one's disagreeing with me; just throwing an observation into the cauldron--Archer4real (talk) 11:51, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

There are now three supporters of a merger besides myself, and it’s still not happened. Astounding--Archer4real (talk) 11:18, January 29, 2013 (UTC)
