thanks for the rewrite, it looks very good now, this is a great example of how the rewites should take place, i really do think this is a great way to diseminate information, wikis are the future! thanks again renagade54 Its Time For The White! 22:46, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

Whoa major rewrite, not bad, but there is no metion of the suits used in the duckblind missions, the pics are good, but there are quite a few for such a small page, all in all good job!but i still seem to think the word duckblind is the proper term, i think it is a simgle compond word, but that is i guess symantics. Its Time For The White! =/\=Talk=/\= 06:53, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Actually, this version has been in existance for probably six months now. It's no rewrite. --Alan del Beccio 07:00, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Canon? Edit

From Talk:Chromodynamic shield

I don't remember this every being mentioned. -Angry Future Romulan 23:08, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

I don't recall it either(although this has been here since 2004)- perhaps it is from the novelization, in which case this should be put up for deletion.31dot 23:10, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

Duplicate info Edit

This article and Cultural observation post feature almost the same information from the same episodes/film. As I understand it, "duck blind" was only the term used for this practice/mission while the observation post is the name of the station. The category technology for "duck blind" seems wrong. Any thoughts? Tom (talk) 14:21, December 7, 2016 (UTC)

Duck blind is just the slang term for this mission type and the cultural observation posts. I would merge the articles and keep this as a redirect for the slang category. - Archduk3 15:42, December 7, 2016 (UTC)
Ok, so duck blind seems to be an informal term for the mission or post, but was the exact term "Cultural observation post" actually ever used? -- Capricorn (talk) 20:26, December 7, 2016 (UTC)
It's just called an "observation post", and once, a "camouflaged observation post". The former term is used in "Homeward" and "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy", too.
The term "Duck blind", on the other hand, appears twenty-nine times, always in the descriptive passages and slug lines except for one mention by Geordi and Data each. It is also used twice in Star Trek: Insurrection.
I would suggest renaming "cultural observation post" to "observation post" and merging with "duck blind". --LauraCC (talk) 16:28, December 9, 2016 (UTC)
That last suggestion makes sense, Support. Just make sure that the resulting article makes clear that "Duck blind" isn't just an informal term for the type of post, but also for the type of mission. -- Capricorn (talk) 20:51, December 11, 2016 (UTC)
