No rank in Germany Edit

Kommandant is not a rank in Germany, it is a position; Kasernen-Kommandant for example is the translation of Base Commander and you would agree that you can't speak of the rank Base Commander -- Kobi - (Talk) 21:48, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Its the same way in English -- its more of a title which is pretty much synonymous with commanding officer -- not a rank since commandants could be any senior grade i suppose.
