Boston isn't in the region of Massachusetts but in Massachusetts and the United States isn't a nation-state but simply a nation.

Look up the definition of nation state, the United States is one. Also, last I checked, Boston takes up space in the state. That makes it a region. It is more specifically a city, but a city is the name for a type of region. --OuroborosCobratalk 03:48, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
