IMO this page should be deleted. There is no evidence that there might even be more ships than one of this type. Also there would have to be two bonaventure-type pages under the logic of this page. We list the Bonaventure as an unknown ship type in it's article. Also this page is wrongly categorized as a "federation type", and there appears to be unnecessary and unfounded speculation in the background already better covered by the Bonaventure page. --Pseudohuman 13:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

There is no evidence that there is more than one Raptor-class class either, yet we don't redirect that to the IKS Somraw page (remembering that we recognized "X type" as "unnamed class", with "X class" pages being about the design, not any one particular ship). Also, I believe we've recognize ships known to be active following the founding of the Federation to be Federation starships. I believe to illustrate that, there is a distinctive line drawn between the vessels referenced in TNG: "Up The Long Ladder". --Alan 14:14, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

This ship type was not known to be active after the founding of the Federation. In fact it seems likely to predate even the Valiant. Even though the statement "first ship to have warp drive installed" could be interpreted as "the first of a class of Federation ships to have modern warp-8 engines" it would be less speculative to take it as "the first prototype Earth starship". We should at the very least have a distinction as "Bonaventure-type (starship)" as there is the other Bonaventure too.--Pseudohuman 15:10, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
