This might be a bit pointless (its probably in many) but has anyone ever noted how many episodes the baseball is seen in? -- Tough Little Ship 14:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

It's most likely in a great number of Deep Space 9 episodes, and (I am unsure) maybe in an episode or two in other series. We definitely know it's in episodes such as ""Emissary"", "Take Me Out to the Holosuite", "Image in the Sand", etc. If we made a list, it would be quite extensive. - Enzo Aquarius 15:58, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
But does Emissary count because Sisko explains baseball to the Prophets, but does Sisko have his baseball in his office in that episode?- Chimeradave July 21, 2008
The article on Ep 2-02 The Circle, says that the Baseball is first seen on Sisko's desk in that ep.However, in the episode before that Sisko is playing with the ball in his office and throws it to Jadzia during a discussion and she comments that she's not as interested in Baseball as Curzon pretended to be. Should any of that be included in this article?- Chimeradave- July 31, 2008
I corrected the article - the baseball was given to Sisko by an alien impersonating Buck Bokai in "If Wishes Were Horses". What "The Circle"'s note is trying to say, I think, is that this baseball is actually seen on his desk for the first time.– Cleanse 05:45, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Removed Edit

I removed this background note.

This could also be interpreted as a message from Sisko: once again, like when Dukat took over the station, he left the baseball behind. It could be a message that he will be back.

It's a speculation. — Vince47 12:23, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Having just come across this, I don't believe a note mentioning this would be out of place in the article, since it is mentioned by Dukat himself in his conversation with Weyoun at the end of "Call to Arms":
WEYOUN: I assume Captain Sisko removed or destroyed everything of value?
DUKAT: Not everything.
WEYOUN: What is that?
DUKAT: A message from Sisko.
WEYOUN: I don't understand.
DUKAT: He's letting me know he'll be back.
The above note could maybe do with a rewrite, but I don't see the harm in mentioning it in the article, even from an in-universe perspective since it was in the episode itself? --| TrekFan Open a channel 18:07, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
Looks to me like it's already mentioned into the article, unless I'm mistaken-- "During the initial phase of the Dominion War, after the Dominion temporarily gained control of Deep Space 9, the baseball was left behind, serving as a reminder to Dukat, who had taken command of the station, that Sisko intended to return. (DS9: "Call to Arms", "The Nagus")". ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:15, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
It seems my skimming missed that one. Thanks, Tofty. Will teach me to be read more carefully next time, eh? --| TrekFan Open a channel 20:00, April 4, 2014 (UTC)
