Should this article mention the fact that the people in the Heaven's Gate mass suicide apparently called themselves the "Heaven's Gate Away Team"? Wikipedia notes it on the Away Team page...Golden Monkey 21:33, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- The question that needs to be asked is; "is the Heaven's Gate incident relevant to the topic of away teams in Star Trek?" I'd say, no. We don't learn anything more about Star Trek away teams with this information. --OuroborosCobra talk 21:37, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
This statement is included in the Background Information section. I am not sure what the connection is between this statement and the article. I am hesitate to move on this statement, to delete or to keep, until there is further clarification on this connection.--Throwback 21:09, February 2, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely clear on that either; it seems more relevant to landing party.--31dot 02:24, February 3, 2012 (UTC)
It mentions that the first officer organizes and lead the away team(s) and the second officer accompanies, but what about the third officer?– The preceding unsigned comment was added by 126.96.36.199 (talk).
- What about them? I'm not sure anything was said about the function of the third officer in relation to away teams. 31dot (talk) 10:47, February 15, 2015 (UTC)
Boarding Party SplitEdit
Currently boarding party redirects here, but a boarding party to me seems to be a pretty specific term for a group going to a starship/starbase with the intent of either capturing it or getting sth. from it. That opposed to the generic term away team/landing party which can include virtually any mission. Kennelly (talk) 22:08, October 16, 2017 (UTC)
