USS? Starfleet?Edit

was the Arcos specified to be

  1. a Starfleet vessel?
  2. prefixed with "USS"?

I only ask because the Arcos personnel was wearing a previously unseen uniform, just wondering if it was definite that this might actually be an example of a Starfleet uniform. -- Captain M.K.B. 22:11, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

An 11th century Arab emirate? Edit

"The name probably comes from the 11th century emirate of Arcos in modern-day Spain."

Is there anything to support this, particularly the "probably" part? Couldn't it be that the Arcos was named after some world or city belonging to one of the 150 non-Human members of the Federation? Or does every ship have to owe its name to something Earth-related no matter how obscure? – StarFire209 19:51, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

cross listingEdit

Arcos is cross listed on both Federation starships, which notes that the Prime Directive is observed on these ships, and on Civilian Federation starships, which notes that the PD is waived. These are obviously mutually exclusive. Which listing is correct? Starfleetjedi 06:29, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
