I know transcripts are poor evidence, but the Arena transcript seems to call this Arcanis (as in Arcanis Lager). And complicating things, DS9 mentions an "Archanis" several times in a context that suggests it is a world, not a star. (though that's probably shorthand for Archanis IV). Anyway, my point being that this article might benefit from a fact check with the original scipt. Anyone have it? (I'm looking at you, Defiant) -- Capricorn (talk) 17:49, August 25, 2012 (UTC)

Before writing this page, I first went to the transcript because I remembered a third star being mentioned. I know that the site has issues with spelling. So, I went to which is far more reliable on this matter [1]. So, I proceeded with their spelling. In "Day of the Dove", Archanis IV was mentioned as being the location of a research outpost where an illusory brother of Chekov was posted. So, we have a star and a planet in orbit of this star.Throwback (talk) 03:35, September 6, 2012 (UTC)

Fair enough on the spelling, but appart from which isn't canon, what evidence is there to say that Archanis refers to a star. Take this quote from "Apocalypse Rising". (lifted from here):

Gowron: You want the war to end, then the Federation must allow us to annex Archanis and the other worlds we've seized

Sounds like Archanis refers to a planet here. The same episode mentions a "raid on Archanis", though I admit that that's more ambigious. I've looked through transcripts and scripts and can't find anything pointing to Archanis being a star. Though I might have overlooked something, haven't rewatched the episodes. -- Capricorn (talk) 21:00, September 6, 2012 (UTC) Scrap all the above; I've misread your comments. -- Capricorn (talk) 21:03, September 6, 2012 (UTC)

Removed Edit

According to, the Archanis sector was adjacent to the Bajor sector, which was located in the Alpha Quadrant. [2]'

According to the script for "Nor the Battle to the Strong", an alternate spelling for this star was Arcanis. [3]}}

I have removed these items, as well as the info that the star was in the Archanis sector. Canonically, there had been no connection made between this star and this sector, other than the similarity of name.Lakenheath72 (talk) 19:20, March 27, 2015 (UTC)

I think "Broken Link" makes the Archanis-Archanis sector link pretty clear (the link is reforged, so to speak :p), so I've changed the article again accordingly. -- Capricorn (talk) 20:11, March 28, 2015 (UTC)
