Merge Edit

I'm suggesting a merge with Magnetic field, as the "magnetic seal" is not a piece of technology, but the magnetic field keeping the antimatter separated from the matter on the ship. The magnetic field article alludes to this function with a small reference, which could be expanded. At the least, this article needs some incoming links. 31dot 16:17, May 25, 2012 (UTC)

I'm going to oppose a merge for now, as the term was used more than once in the episode to described a component of the antimatter containment system, albeit one that isn't a piece of physical technology. There is more info at electromagnetic field, so the episodes referenced there might have more info, but there isn't any reason I can see to not keep this a separate page. - Archduk3 05:21, May 30, 2012 (UTC)
I propose a merger with maglock. The term "magnetic seal" is not exclusive to warp engines, but also used in locking doors ("Civil Defense") or ships together ("Broken Bow"). [1] In "Broken Bow", the Suliban ships are actually described as being held together first by an interlocking system of magnetic seals and then maglocks. Kennelly (talk) 14:13, June 22, 2017 (UTC)
