Note, alligators are NOT found in Africa (except maybe in the Cape Town or Cairo Zoo). The American alligator in found in the Southeastern United States, while the highly endangered Chinese alligator is found in the Yangtze River Valley of China. The closely related caimans are restricted to South America, although there apparently is an exotic breeding population of the Common Caiman (Caiman scerlops or C. crocodilis) in Florida. The African crocodilians are the Nile crocodile, the slender-snouted crocodile, and the dwarf crocodile.

- The newest revision for this page reads kinda... weird. Somewhat like a high school junior, who wanted to show off his AP English skills. I had to look "riparian" up, and while it appears apt, certainly is a more pretentious word then would seem necessary. I didn't change it, because it works still, but I don't think its right that people just fish around, and look for pages they feel they can re-write. I'll be quiet now. But it does bother me.
