In 2259, subsequent to the attack at Daystrom, this shuttle transported Captain James T. Kirk, Commander Spock, Doctor Leonard McCoy, and Lieutenant Carol Wallace to the Enterprise.
The Takayama was later seen parked next to the shuttlecraft Warrant. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
