Background informationEdit

A True Son of KahlessEdit

Worf teaches his son, Alexander, some of the Klingon ways while they are on shore leave. An accident occurs, and Alexander must save his father.

Background informationEdit

  • This story grew out of Kenneth Penders' desire to break into the writing side of comics. He had met Anne Wokanovicz at a WishCon convention, and they had decided to work together on the story, with him writing the plot, and her working in the dialogue. Penders had decided to ink some of his own pages due to some bad experiences on other issues he had written, and inked the first two pages in their entirety except for the figures of Worf and Alexander. He had also inked every panel featuring the Enterprise or special effects. Penders later commented that this "was a good thing, as Romeo Tanghal was eventually the person assigned to ink the story, and I hadn't been all that thrilled after seeing what he did to my pencils on Captain Atom #41." When the final printing was done, none of the dialogue or captions were included on the first two pages, and panels where captions or balloons were on overlays (rather than being drawn directly on the panel) were all missing the words. Despite the production error, there was not a single complaint sent in by mail about the missing dialgue, and Bob Pinaha, the letterer, "remarked how well the story worked even with the production snafu." [1]
  • The story shows a Klingon crying, despite the lack of tear ducts.

Spot's DayEdit
