Suzanne was a hypothetical girl invented by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in order to make Berlinghoff Rasmussen understand that every choice makes it possible to manipulate the future.
Deciding whether to take Suzanne or Adrienne to the spring dance was one of the possible choices that could have major repercussions for the future. (TNG: "A Matter of Time")
