(written from a Production point of view)

Susan Stepanian is a make-up artist who did hair and hairpiece make-up on 2009's Star Trek. [1]

Stepanian graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Visual Communications. She then took post-graduate studies in sculpture, graphic design, jewelry design, and serigraphy at Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy. Afterward, she graduated the hairstyling program from the Cinema Make-up School in Los Angeles, California, and moved on to pass the 400 hour program in Beauty/Character make-up Artistry at the Make-Up Designory in Burbank.

The first film Stepanian worked on was the drama South of Pico, which, like Star Trek, featured the young Jimmy Bennett. She has since done two upcoming films starring Eddie Murphy: the Paramount Pictures comedy, NowhereLand, on which she was a Key Make-up Artist; and DreamWorks' A Thousand Words, which also features Matt Winston. On the latter, Stepanian again worked with fellow Star Trek make-up artist Cynthia Hernandez.

Stepanian also did additional make-up for the 1008 Coen Brothers comedy Burn After Reading and Sam Raimi's upcoming horror thriller Drag Me to Hell. For television, she does make-up for interviews on E! True Hollywood Story. In addition, she worked on the short-lived CBS series Viva Laughlin (on which Mädchen Amick was a regular) and on the first four episodes of the third season of HBO's Big Love. She most recently worked on the pilot and first four episodes of the upcoming series Priveleged.
