Steak is an ancient Terran delicacy. It is a very simple dish, consisting of a grilled slice of meat, usually from the Terran cow, which is flavored and can be served with various side dishes like potatoes, vegetables, and eggs.

During the 2150s, Captain Jonathan Archer and Commander Charles Tucker of the Earth starship Enterprise frequently ate steak at the Captain's Table. (ENT: "Fortunate Son")

In 2374, Julian Bashir from the Federation space station Deep Space 9 was about to enjoy a steak with mushrooms and a grilled potato in Quark's Bar after he had not eaten a thing in days due to his journey to Kal'Hyah in preparation for Worf's and Jadzia's wedding, but was prevented from doing so by the fact that the ritual was not yet completed.
