Starfleet Access is a picture-in-picture commentary and trivia format whose name references the fictional organization Starfleet. This split-screen format shows additional information about such things as planets, ships, and lifeforms, and includes video commentary from multiple members of production staff. Unlike audio commentaries and text commentaries, however, this form of commentary can only be found on Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD releases of the remastered version of Star Trek: The Original Series (rather than DVDs of TOS and other Star Trek productions).
