Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation² is an eight-issue comic book series from IDW Publishing. It is the first official crossover with Doctor Who, and unites the characters of Star Trek: The Next Generation with the Doctor to battle the Borg and the Cybermen.

Summary

Two universes collide when the crew of the Enterprise-D encounter the Doctor (in his eleventh incarnation) and his companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams, as an insidious alliance between the Borg and the Cybermen attacks the Federation. The Doctor's own timestream is in danger, as he recalls an encounter one of his previous incarnations had with the crew of the original Enterprise - an encounter that supposedly never actually happened. When the Cybermen renege on their deal with the Borg, threaten to overrun the Collective and wreak untold havoc, the Doctor and his companions must travel back to the horrors of the Battle of Wolf 359 for the key to defeating his enemy.

Background information

• Assimilation² was successful, and Tony Lee pitched a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine crossover with Doctor Who to IDW. Worf would have remembered the Doctor in this DS9 story, which would have been titled Domination. [1]
