The Star Trek: Starship Tactical Combat Simulator (STSTCS) was a tabletop strategy game put out by FASA to complement their Star Trek: The Role Playing Game (RPG), and was essentially the renamed second edition of the three years earlier released Star Trek II: Starship Combat Simulator, as was also indicated by being reassigned the same "2003" FASA catalognumber.

This was a standalone game and it was not necessary to own FASA's main Role Playing Game to play, and the game box set was therefore usually sold separately. Nonetheless, the game contents were included in the "Deluxe" version of the 1985/86 main RPG second edition reissue, as an extra bonus component. It was very similar to the Star Fleet Battles strategy game by Task Force Games / Amarillo Design Bureau.

It described combat for starships and differed somewhat from not only the original RPG combat rules, but also from those of FASA's own in 1984 released Star Trek III: Starship Combat Game (No. 2006, reissued in 1985 wich incidentally, was the game included as bonus in the early issues of the "Deluxe" version of the main RPG), the Combat Simulator greatly resembled as well.
