Starbase Orpheus was a Federation Outpost in the Casperus star system along the Federation-Klingon border. Captain James Kirk and the USS Enterprise departed from this starbase on a mission to capture a Modified Klingon Bird of Prey Fighter that was in a nearby Klingon Drydock. After capturing the vessel, the Enterprise towed the Bird of prey back to Orpheus, where it was secured for the Federation for use in the Klingon war.
