The spacecraft identification file was a computer file that contained information on an individual spacecraft. The file had information on a ship's origin, propulsion, structure, mission, crew, and armament. Included in this file, as well, there was information on the data origin, the name of the person who filed the entry, and the date of the recording. These files were stored in the Library Computer Access and Retrieval System of a Starfleet starship.
Spacecraft identification file 92654 was created for the unnamed Tamarian deep space cruiser encounterd by the SS Shiku Maru on stardate 35056.4. The ship's captain A. Silvestri was identified as the person who filed the entry. This file was later accessed by the crew of the USS Enterprise-D in 2368. (TNG: "Darmok")
