Soval was a Vulcan serving as an enlisted science crewman aboard the Imperial starship, ISS Avenger.

In 2155, T'Pol enlisted Soval's help to rebel against the Empire. Soval was at first reluctant to get involved, saying he was too old to be a revolutionary. When Commander Archer made an impassioned speech regarding the future of the Empire and expelled all aliens from the USS Defiant to Avenger, Soval realized something had to be done. With T'Pol, he enlisted Phlox' aid to disable the engine and weapon systems on board the Defiant so Avenger could destroy it.

Now in command of Avenger, Soval ordered her on a strafing run of the disabled ship. Unfortunately, Defiant restored its systems and destroyed Avenger with all hands, including Soval. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II")

According to episode writer Mike Sussman, Soval's goatee is a tip of the hat to the mirror universe version of Spock, who had a similar beard in TOS: "Mirror, Mirror". Evidence of this was included in the script for "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II", which describes Soval thus; "He’s nothing like the haughty ambassador we know... years as a second-class citizen in the Empire have made him an outwardly subservient individual. Like Mirror Spock, Soval sports a trimmed goatee."

Mirror Soval was played by Gary Graham, who also played his counterpart from the prime reality.
