Ensign Sousa was a female command division Starfleet officer who served aboard the USS Enterprise-D under Captain Jean-Luc Picard. She passed Wesley Crusher and Lieutenant Commander Data in a corridor shortly after Crusher beamed aboard the Enterprise-D. (TNG: "The Game")

She was working on the bridge when the Enterprise-D investigated the destruction of the SS Vico in a black cluster. (TNG: "Hero Worship")

In late 2368, Sousa served as the conn officer when the Enterprise-D rendered assistance to a disabled Romulan science vessel. (TNG: "The Next Phase")

In early 2369, she passed Chief Daniels and Sev Maylor when the two left the transporter room. (TNG: "Man of the People")

In 2370, Sousa took a turbolift with Ensign Sam Lavelle and left at deck 12 where she passed Captain Picard and Ensign Sito Jaxa. (TNG: "Lower Decks")

Ensign Sousa was played by recurring background actress Linda Harcharic who received no credit for her appearances.

Sousa's name was not used on-screen, but was listed as a non-speaking role in the cast list of the script, but not specified beyond that in the script. This female conn officer is the only non-speaking ensign addressed in the episode.
