Captain Solok (played by Gregory Wagrowski) was a Vulcan Starfleet officer who commanded the starship USS T'Kumbra in 2375. He was a decorated officer, having twice been awarded the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor, the second in early 2375.

Solok attended Starfleet Academy with Benjamin Sisko, and was well known for pointing out the fallibility of emotions and what he believed to be the superiority of Vulcan discipline. He took uncharacteristic pride (to the point of arrogance) in his heritage, and took every opportunity to point that out to his fellow classmates. This made him a great rival of Sisko, who once got into a (drunken) argument with Solok at the Launching Pad, a popular meeting place for cadets.

When the T'Kumbra put in for repairs at Deep Space 9 (which was commanded by Sisko) in 2375, Solok challenged Sisko to a game of baseball, with the hopes of humiliating Sisko by beating him at his favorite sport. Solok even organized a team of Vulcans from among his crew to participate in the game.

Although the Logicians beat the Niners in the game, Solok was infinitely puzzled by the simple pleasure that Sisko and his teammates experienced in playing the game, despite their loss. (DS9: "Take Me Out to the Holosuite")
