Sodium salt was one of the substances revealed by USS Enterprise-D spectral analysis to comprise the sentient inorganic microbrain lifeform of Velara III. According to Worf, this compound meant that the microbrain was a conductor. (TNG: "Home Soil")

The use of the combined term "sodium salt" is a bit unusual. Whether this means there's a non-sodium-based salt in the Star Trek universe is unclear. But Majel Barrett Roddenberry's delivery puts no break between the words "sodium" and "salt", clearly suggesting it's meant to be understood as a single item, neither purely sodium or salt.
