Silva La Forge was a command division officer in Starfleet, and the mother of Geordi La Forge.
Her husband, Exobiologist Edward M. La Forge also served as a sciences division officer in Starfleet, although he and Silva were often on separated assignments.
At one point, Silva served as a command officer on an outpost near the Romulan Neutral Zone.
By 2369, she was a captain, commanding officer of the Hera. The vessel went missing in that year, and Silva and the rest of the vessel's crew were listed as missing in action. Subsequent search missions by starships Nobel and Excelsior reveal no trace of the ship's whereabouts or fate. She is survived by her husband and children. (TNG:"Interface")
