Shari Lewis (17 January 19332 August 1998; age 65), born Sonia Phyllis Hurwitz, was an American writer and performer best known for her puppet character "Lamb Chop" in several children's television shows and specials including Lamb Chop's Play-Along which aired on PBS from 1992 to 1997. Lewis wrote an episode of the original Star Trek series, "The Lights of Zetar", with her second husband Jeremy Tarcher.

In 1995, she appeared as herself (and Lamb Chop) in an episode of The Nanny, which co-starred Daniel Davis.
