The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge was a bridge dating to the early 20th century in the San Francisco Metropolitan Area, California. This landmark bridge spanned the San Francisco Bay. This double-decker bridge passed through Yerba Buena Island. At night, the bridge was illuminated by streetlights and by lights on the suspension railings. This bridge was preserved to at least the late 24th century (prime universe) or the mid-23rd century (alternate reality). For centuries, this bridge was visible from the tallest buildings in the city. In the alternate 2259, in the office of Admiral Alexander Marcus, there was on the wall a large picture of the bridge. Taken at street level, near one of the suspension towers, this photo included a distant view of another suspension tower with Yerba Buena Island in the background. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
