SS 433

SS 433 was a neutron binary system.

A painting of this system depicted the two stars from the perspective of a rocky world. In the mid-2360s, this painting was displayed aboard the USS Enterprise-D. It was seen in the observation lounge, in Geordi La Forge's quarters, and in Elizabeth Shelby's guest quarters. (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint", "The Most Toys", "The Best of Both Worlds")

This painting was painted by Rick Sternbach for Science Digest. It illustrated an article by Dr. William Kaufmann.
It was seen in the observation lounge in the episodes "The Naked Now", "Code of Honor", "The Last Outpost", "Haven", "The Big Goodbye", "Datalore", "Too Short a Season", "When The Bough Breaks", "Coming of Age", "Skin of Evil", "We'll Always Have Paris", "Conspiracy", and "The Neutral Zone". The painting was seen one more time in La Forge's quarters in the episode "The Mind's Eye". [1]
