Template:Realworld Ron Jones has written musical scores for many episodes in the first four seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as the video game Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. He was fired under controversial circumstances near the end of the fourth season of TNG, supposedly because his music was thought to be "too noticeable" by Rick Berman. Jones has since been a major critic of Berman-era Trek. (source: Cinefantastique magazine, Oct. 1993)

Jones has also composed for dozens of other television series, including Magnum, P.I. and Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy, as well as such family fare as The Smurfs, Disney's DuckTales and Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers, and The Fairly OddParents, for which he also composted the theme song.
