Roger Soffer is the writer who wrote with writing partner Christian Ford the original story pitch of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine third season episode "Life Support", based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
Following their story pitch for Deep Space Nine, Soffer and Ford wrote the screenplay for the fantasy comedy Kazaam (1996, with actors Randall Bosley, Bob Clendenin, Michael Wajacs, and Larry Clardy) and the story for the thriller Slow Burn (2000) which was also Ford's directorial debut and on which Soffer worked as producer. The two also wrote the story for the 2005 television science fiction film Category 7: The End of the World, the television mini series Merlin's Apprentice (2006), and the television science fiction/horror film Final Days of Planet Earth (2006). On Merlin's Apprentice, Soffer also worked as associate producer, and on Final Days of Planet Earth, he worked as producer.
In 2008, they co-wrote the teleplay for the science fiction television thriller Infected. More recently, Soffer co-wrote the animated fantasy film Throne of Elves (2016).
