Rod Loomis (born 21 April 1942; age 81), who played Paul Manheim in the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "We'll Always Have Paris", began his acting career while he was in the US Army. Loomis is best known for playing Sigmund Freud in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989, featuring Bernie Casey, Dan Shor, Hal Landon, Jr., Jane Wiedlin and J. Patrick McNamara in the cast).

He also appeared in The Beastmaster (1982, featuring Tony Epper, Vanna Bonta, Diamond Farnsworth, Vince Deadrick, Tom Huff, Eddy Donno, Eddie Hice, Freddie Hice, and Chuck Hicks).

Loomis earned a master of fine arts degree from Brandeis University and then attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He toured with the national companies of 1776, The Merry Widow, The Sound of Music and Uncle Vanya. Other screen credits include Body Double, and Man on a Swing. His many television appearances include roles on Dynasty, Matt Houston, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and Stargate SG-1.
