(written from a Production point of view)

Robyn Stewart (born 1967; age ~57) is the Canadian linguist working as the Klingon language translator for Star Trek: Discovery.

Stewart is a member of the Klingon Language Institute, which was founded by Lawrence Schoen. In 2016, she was hired to work on the newest Star Trek series. She was chosen because the producers specifically asked for a prolific Klingon speaker living in Canada. Prior to accepting the offer, she consulted with Marc Okrand, who supported her to take the job. [1]

Stewart joined the KLI around 1996, though she had been introduced to the Klingon language at college in 1987. Her work includes translating the relevant parts of the English language scripts into Klingon and coordinating with dialect coaches Rea Nolan and Jeffrey Simlett.

In addition to her work on Star Trek, Stewart is the chief pilot for an aerial survey company.

Stewart has chosen for herself the Klingon name Qov. [2]
