Robert Schenkkan (born 19 March 1953; age 71) played the role of Lt. Cmdr. Dexter Remmick in TNG: ""Coming of Age"" and "Conspiracy". The character was also seen in the clip show "Shades of Gray".

Robert has also starred in films, including The Manhattan Project (1986, with Adrian Sparks, Timothy Carhart, J.D. Cullum, Fred G. Smith, Dan Butler, and Steve Markle), Sweet Liberty (1986, with Saul Rubinek, Linda Thorson, and Timothy Carhart), The Bedroom Window (1987, with Leon Rippy, Brad Greenquist, Mark Margolis, Wallace Shawn, and Rick Sawaya), and Out Cold (1989, with Teri Garr, Bruce McGill, Ada Maris, and James Lashly). He is best known for his role as David Deaver, the guidance counselor at the high school in the 1990 film Pump Up the Volume starring Christian Slater, who appeared in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; the film also starred DS9 guest star Clayton Landey.

Schenkkan received a Pulitzer Prize for his nine-part play The Kentucky Cycle.
