Robert Hoffmeister (born 16 October 1969; age 47) is a visual effects sequence supervisor and digital artist at Industrial Light & Magic. As such, he was one of ILM's sequence supervisors on 2009's Star Trek. 
Hoffmeister graduated from Gymnasium Casimirianum and Fachhochschule Hannover in Germany and Brunel University in West London, England. As a Senior Inferno Artist at visual effects studio Digital Renaissance, Hoffmeister worked on such German/Dutch-made films as The Little Vampire (starring Alice Krige) and Down (starring Ron Perlman). He later briefly joined Digital Domain as a Flame Artist, during which time he worked on the 2002 film adaptation of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine, written by John Logan.
Hoffmeister joined Industrial Light & Magic as a Digital Compositor in 2002. His digital compositing credits for the studio include Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, Hulk (starring Eric Bana), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (starring David Andrews and Kristanna Loken), Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. He was also on of ILM's digital artists on such films as War of the Worlds, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels.
As an ILM sequence supervisor, Hoffmeister's credits include Van Helsing, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and Mission: Impossible III. The latter, like Star Trek, was directed by J.J. Abrams and co-written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Shortly thereafter, Hoffmeister was a sequence supervisor on the 2007 blockbuster Transformers, also written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Hoffmeister's more recent ILM credits include Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince and he is currently working on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
