(written from a Production point of view)

Rob Wise (born 14 March 1943; age 81) was an assistant cameraman who served as such on the first Star Trek movie, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the movie that was directed by his father, Robert Wise.

Wise was the only child of director Robert Wise and his first wife Patricia Doyle. [1] Wise has been active as cameraman in the late 1970s and 1980s and has contributed as such to the movies Swim Team (1979), Body Heat (1981), Death Wish II, Megaforce (both 1982), and Space Raiders (1983, as second unit director of photography). Still, Wise seemed to have left the motion picture industry in the late 1980s, as the 1986 production The Men's Club has been his last recorded credit, and is currently living as a retiree in Palatka, Florida.
