Real World article
(written from a Production point of view)

Illustrator Rob Caswell (born 23 August 1960; age 56) created many of the interior images for the Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual published by FASA in 1988. This was one of the first commercially produced technical guides to the series.

In 2012 he created a series of fictional, fan art paperback covers for a hypothetical Star Trek (original series) spin off, entitled The Seekers. Writers David Mack and Dayton Ward saw these illustrations and it sparked the idea to make the concept real. Simon & Schuster accepted the series idea as Star Trek: Seekers, which brought in writer Kevin Dilmore and reunited the core creative team from Star Trek: Vanguard. Caswell was included on the team to provide all new cover art for the book series. [1] [2]
