A 24th century Rigelian freighter
Rigelian freighters were a type of cargo freighter operated by the Rigelians during the 24th century. These Federation vessels were of a completely different, and presumably more advanced, design, than their 22nd century counterparts.
In 2369, a Rigelian freighter was docked at Deep Space 9 prior to its mission to the Gamma Quadrant.
It was used to shadow the Starfleet runabout, taking the fugitive Croden back to Rakhar, while attempting to avoid a Miradorn raider that was scanning all ships leaving DS9, as both ships traveled through the Bajoran wormhole. (DS9: "Vortex")
- The 24th century Rigelian freighter was one of the many redresses of the Pakled transport, Mondor, which first appeared in TNG: "Samaritan Snare".
- Based on the fact that Deep Space 9 is 1451.82 meters in diameter, this freighter may be around 600-700 meters in length, judging by comparison of the freighter when it passes above the station.
