Richard Lineback (born 4 February 1952; age 72) is an actor who played Romas in the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "Symbiosis", Selin Peers in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine first season episode "Dax", and Kessick in the Star Trek: Enterprise third season episode "The Xindi". Archive footage from his appearance in "Symbiosis" was later re-used for the TNG second season episode "Shades of Gray".

Lineback was born in Frankfurt-am-Main, West Germany to an American army doctor stationed there. His family relocated to Austin, Texas when he was 13. He attended the University of Texas at Austin before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

His film credits include Sommersby (1993, with William Windom), Speed (1994, with Alan Ruck, Carlos Carrasco, Jordan Lund, Patricia Tallman, and Bruce Wright), Natural Born Killers (1994), Twister (1996, with Alan Ruck), The Jackal (1997), and The Ring (2002, with Chuck Hicks).

He appeared in guest roles on several television series, including Fantasy Island (starring Ricardo Montalban, with Wendy Schaal and Ed Begley, Jr.), M*A*S*H* (starring David Ogden Stiers), T. J. Hooker (starring William Shatner and Richard Herd, directed by Corey Allen), Knight Rider (starring Patricia McPherson and William Daniels, directed by Robert Bralver), MacGyver (with John Anderson), China Beach (starring Robert Picardo, Jeff Kober, and Concetta Tomei), Dallas (with Mary Crosby and Joel Grey), Touched By an Angel, and JAG (with Scott Lawrence and Zoe McLellan).

He also appeared in a number of television films, including 2002's King of Texas, starring Patrick Stewart and Colm Meaney.
