Richard James 2001

Richard James (2001)

Richard James is a set designer who worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager. He designed the interiors of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D) from the second to the final seasons. He also designed the Danube class' aft compartment (seen only in "Timescape").

He was also responsible for designing the bridge of the USS Voyager.

He recreated the interiors of the USS Excelsior for "Flashback", and created the modified designs for the USS Prometheus' interiors.

In the credits of the various Star Trek series he has worked on, James is usually listed as Richard D. James. This has caused some confusion among fans of electronic music artist Aphex Twin, who shares the same name.
